Samuel Vernon Silver Patch Box, Newport, Rhode Island, c. 1725, the oval box with engraved phoenix on the lid inside a leaf border, engraved on the bottom "BH," the inside of the lid and base of box marked "SV" in a sunken cartouche, wd. 1 3/4 in., approx. 0.6 troy oz.
Provenance: The Silver Shelf, Ardmore, Pennsylvania, December 1971.

Very minor shallow dent to both lid and underside, shallow dent to lid is unobtrusive. Scattered abrasions to underside. Otherwise in good overall condition.
