Japonisme Gilt- and Silvered-bronze Figural Gueridon, France, c. 1860, possibly designed by Eugene Cornu and executed by G. Viot & Cie., Paris, onyx top with cast rim set on flower entwined "branches," at center a modeled peacock on a round base with bird and flower decoration, curved legs, stamped GK, ht. 36 1/2, approx. top 18 x 18 in.
Note: An identical gueridon was sold at Christie's, London, September 23, 2010, sale 7870.
