Emerson, Ralph Waldo (1803-1882) Autograph Letter Signed, 24 October 1867. Octavo-format wove paper bifolium inscribed over three pages. To G.F. Tinker Esquire of New London, Connecticut, altering their existing arrangements for Emerson to come and speak in November, noting the proximity to Thanksgiving of the previously selected date would be inconvenient to "many families in your city as well as to myself who must not fail to keep Thanksgiving at home." Old folds, some toning, 7 3/4 x 4 3/4 in.
