The paper has been professionally restored and lined with a fine sheet of rice paper or similar. This second sheet is visible along the edges of the original sheet where there were losses. There is a small tear to the original sheet at the lower left, measuring 3/8 inch. It appears that there were old creases that were repaired when the sheet was lined. These present as subtle vertical paint losses in the background in the upper half of the composition. There is an abrasion along the bottom right edge beneath the signature and what appears to be some old water damage to the lower right edge that smudged part of the date.
