Royal Welch Fusilier-owned, Pattern 1822/45 British Infantry Officer's Sword, Ball & Nash, 42 Conduit Street, London, gothic hilt with crown over "VR" cipher, folding guard, slightly curved etched blade with single fuller and pipe/quill back, brass scabbard engraved at the throat "J.D./Brt. Major/23rd R.W. Fusiliers," overall lg. 38 1/2 in.
