Chippendale Carved Mahogany Desk/Bookcase, possibly Newport, Rhode Island, 18th century, the upper section with molded cornice over two paneled, hinged doors opening to a four-shelf interior, flanked by fluted columns, over a lower section with slant-lid revealing a fitted interior of compartments with concave molded drawer, all over a case of four graduated, cockbeaded drawers raised on ogee bracket feet, (imperfections),ht. 81 1/2, wd. 42, dp. 22 1/2 in.

refinished, has a 4 x 1 inch patch to the lid, nail holes to the sides of the top section, capitals of the pilasters are replaced, splits to the sides, restoration to drawer runners, and the prospect door of the desk interior is replaced
