Chippendale Carved Mahogany Slant-lid Desk, probably North Shore of Massachusetts, c. 1760-80, the lid opens to an interior of a fan-carved prospect door with valanced compartment and concave drawer, flanked by document drawers with split-baluster fronts, four valanced compartments and two tiers of serpentine front drawers, on a cockbeaded case of four graduated drawers, all on claw-and-ball feet centering a shell-carved pendant, replaced brasses, refinished, (restoration),ht. 44, case wd. 40 1/4, case dp. 23 1/2 in.

restoration to many of the knee returns, glue blocking, and feet. Patching to base molding in at least two places, front edge of case, lid at hinges, etc. Base needs regluing.
